Development: 1996Mr Andreas Schweneker and Mr Peter Gschwind have an idea: a sticky high quality watch resembling a stamp and with a variety of extraordinary designs. Mr Elmar Mock, one of the inventors of the SWATCH watch, takes over the technical part of the design process. Finally the first STAMPS watch emerges in the form of a vertical strip with 4 connected watches in every strip. Each watch can be snapped off the strip and used individually. This launch contains a surprising 36 different designs. Foundation Of The Company: 1997Mr Andreas Schweneker founds Timehouse GmbH in Hamburg, Germany. Success doesn’t wait: he achieves 9th place at the well known Start Up Competition run by “Stern“ (German media), Sparkassen (German finance) and the international management consultant company McKinsey. Production of the first STAMPS watches starts in Berlin, Germany. Distribution starts in German Shops but soon spreads to Hong Kong and The Netherlands via new business partners. Growth: 1999Timehouse switches its production line to Nove Mesto nad Metuji in the Czech Rep. The production itself is being widened to include accessories such as chains and bracelets. Besides the original 4-watch strip, doubles and singles are available now. This range is also on offer as a promotional article for companies under what is called "Premiere". Sales Expansion: 20002000 is a year of great importance. The product distribution is widened out to include European countries such as Portugal, Italy, France and even some in East Europe; overseas countries of Japan, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Mexico, Dubai, India and China are soon to follow. Awards: 2001Timehouse takes part in the annual Red Dot competition, a very popular designer award in Germany and succeeds with 2 designs. At the same time a STAMPS watch is chosen as the Design-Model of the Frankfurt fair 2001. STAMPS Shops: 2003October 2005 is marked by the opening of the first STAMPS shop in Camden Town London, UK. Accessories: 2005Accessories, like bags and t-shirts, are being added to the product line. A new collection for kids comes on to the market by the name of "STAMPINO“. Packaging: 2007Matching with the new STAMPS concept and the various new designs, a different more elegant packaging is developed. Full Metal Jack: 2008During the summer Timehouse launches the "Full Metal Jack" collection with more masculine design. This is designed to appeal to the male customer but not exclusively!
